SURREY (NEWS1130) – It was a busy night for Surrey Mounties, as they deal with two deadly shootings.

Two people were gunned down just before midnight at 128th Street and 94th Avenue. Neighbours report hearing several shots before the sound of tires squealing and a car speeding away.

From the street, you can see into the parkade outside the apartment complex.

This morning, there were approximately 10 investigators taking pictures around a body that was surrounded by pylons and covered by a yellow tarp. The second body could not be seen from the street.

“A vehicle was seen fleeing erratically from the area north on 128th Street. The vehicle is described as a green SUV or pick-up truck towing a box utility trailer,” says Sergeant Jennifer Pound with IHIT.

The victims have not yet been identified; police are also still looking for a motive in the shooting.

Around 7 p.m. yesterday, there was another deadly shooting. This one was near 168th Street and 76th Avenue.

The victim in that case has been identified as 27-year-old Manjot Dhillon of Surrey; he has a criminal record and his death is thought to be gang-related.

The two shootings are not believed to be connected.
