YVR has been named one of the best airports in North America

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s one of the busiest airports in the country and it seems YVR is better than its American counterparts.
A recent study that found Vancouver’s airport is one of the most accommodating for travellers.
People also said staffers were attentive, making their travel experience stress-free.
Not a surprise, says Reg Krake, Director of Customer Care at YVR. “Nearly 500 green coat volunteers, we had double to size of that for the Olympics. We have actually have increased it again this last year by 100 volunteers and we’;re looking to increase that even more. it’s one of the examples of things we’re working on to continue to add to that capability.”
Other things important to Canadians was clear signage, good food options, plenty of bathrooms, Wi-Fi and of course shorter wait times.
Canadian respondents identified the following frequently travelled North American airports as the top five most accommodating or hassle-free:
1. Toronto Pearson International Airport (24 per cent)
2. Calgary International Airport (15 per cent)
3. Vancouver International Airport (13 per cent)
4. Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport (6 per cent)
5. Los Angeles International Airport (5 per cent)
LAX is the only US airport to crack the top five.
