Fassbender relying on experience to win Surrey-Fleetwood

By

LANGLEY (NEWS1130) – We knew he was going to run; now we’re finding out why.

Langley City Mayor Peter Fassbender says he’s relying on his track record as a public servant to help him get elected as a Liberal MLA in Surrey-Fleetwood, a riding currently held by the NDP’s Jagrup Brar.

He’s hinting at transportation promises south of the Fraser, saying “I am prepared to assist the minister and the government and the premier to find a solution so that we stop this blame game.”

Fassbender is also already taking jabs at his opponents.

“So, here’s the message for Adrian Dix and the NDP: I think every good government needs a good opposition and I’m going to work very hard to make sure that you continue to play that role.”

He admits he was approached by the party about running but he denies he’s been promised a cabinet position.
