VPD arrests man accused of killing wife in 2006

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) -The VPD has arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with his wife’s death seven years ago.
Jaswant Gill has been charged with second-degree murder.
Gurpreet Gill, the bride of an arranged marriage, was reported missing in 2006.
“We know that there is nothing that will ever make up for the tragedy and loss the family has suffered,” says Sergeant Kevin McLaren. “But we hope that today’s announcement offers them some measure of comfort, as it has to the investigators who never gave up in their efforts to solve the mystery and seek justice for the victim.”
There wasn’t even a body until two weeks ago when it was discovered in Richmond. It took a coroner to help positively identify the 33-year-old woman. She was considered missing until now.
Police are staying quiet on what allowed them to make the arrest.
