SQUAMISH (NEWS1130) – A climb up the Chief in Squamish has ended in tragedy after a woman fell to her death.
Witnesses called Mounties to the area around 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon; Inspector Peter Lee says they still haven’t identified the victim, but she is likely in her late 20s or early 30s.
“We’re still trying to ascertain… a general location of where she fell, exactly, from. At this point… we actually don’t know where she fell from,” says Lee.
Lee adds they do not yet know if she was climbing with anyone.
“We can only presume she was alone because we haven’t had any parties come out afterwards to advise police that they were with this individual who then fell,” he tells us.
“She was wearing a light blue sports bra [and] green shorts. She has brown curly hair and blue eyes.”
