IHIT called in after body found in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Surrey RCMP has confirmed the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over an investigation at Hi-Knoll park, near 192nd Street.

Sgt. Jennifer Pound with IHIT says the body is that of a woman and foul play is suspected.

No word yet on whether the discovery of the body is related in any way to other five bodies that have dumped along Colebrook Road.

Elizabeth lives nearby and says it is a nice neighbourhood, but the park Colebrook Road runs through has it’s good and bad sides. “It’s great for agriculture, it’s great for nature walks… but it’s great for disbursement of drugs as well.”

The other bodies found this year were discovered on another stretch of the road quite a ways west from the location of today’s discovery.

News1130’s Dean Recksiedler was there, speaking with people who described a dramatic situation.

“They saw police arrive and a number of them came out of their cars and grabbed their rifles, their long guns.” One person said they heard three shots fired.

“I have spoken with a couple of police member on the scene and they were just saying that the investigation is still active,” adds Recksiedler.
