Man charged with three Lower Mainland murders

By

SURREY (NEWS1130) – A man has been charged with murder in connection with three homicide cases in the Lower Mainland.

Sarbjit Bains will be back in court later this month.

Jill Lyons and Karen Nabors were both sex trade workers, both lived in the same apartment building in New Westminster, both were killed two weeks apart in August.

The only common factor that could link the third victim, Amritpal Saran, was that he was also living a high-risk lifestyle dealing with addiciton problems.

Saran’s body was found dumped on Colebrook Road in Surrey in February.

Saran’s sister Simrit says her brother had a heart of gold. “To the cowards that did this to our Amrit, you must have thought you got away, but this is just the beginning. Your suffering starts now.”

IHIT won’t say if any of the victims knew Bains but are saying the crimes weren’t totally random.

Bains is from Surrey and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder.
