VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Police say a man who just can’t put down his phone while driving has lost his licence for a long time, after being pulled over and ticketed for the 26th time.
Sergeant Randy Fincham says they’ve tried to tell the 49-year-old to smarten up. “Unfortunately police have had many instances to chat with this individual and try and advise him of his risky driving behaviour and have him correct that behaviour and he just refuses to take those recommendations.”
The man had his licence pulled in February for two months but was then caught again on Sunday, when his car was impounded.
“For somebody to receive 26 violation ticket specific to distracted driving offences, I haven’t seen anything like this. It just shows that there are people out there that aren’t getting the message.”
