Homicide investigators called in after deadly shooting in Burnaby

BURNABY (NEWS1130) – IHIT believes a deadly shooting in Burnaby was a targeted hit.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. yesterday around 2nd Street and 19th Avenue. The victim was shot several times; he died in the hospital.
The victim, a 46-year-old man from Alberta, was known to police.
“While this investigation is in the very early stages IHIT can confirm that evidence gathered thus far suggests this to be a targeted attack,” says Staff Sergeant Jennifer Pound.
There’s no word on a possible motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.
