BC ghost town for sale

VANCOUVER(NEWS1130) A BC ghost town can be yours for a little under a million dollars.

The town is Bradian, a 50-acre gold rush-era property near Lillooet complete with 20 houses and some of the original utilities intact.

Realtor John Lovelace who specializes in unique wilderness properties says upkeep and preservation was a labour of love for the current owners.

“They are a couple who at the time had young children and went up there to really preserve and protect a little piece of British Columbia history. But now the kids have grown-up, I know the oldest is in university in Montreal, and it’s time to move on,” he says.

Lovelace says while it’s a little difficult to reach, Bradian at 3,700 ft has essentially the same climate as Whistler and is just two valleys over.

“It has warm summers and in the winter time lots of snow but moderate temperatures. You don’t get the -40C like in Eastern Canada,” he says.

Lovelace says this is one of the best snowmobiling areas in BC and the town would be a great resource for a snowmobiling operation.

More than four million ounces of gold and 1.2 million ounces of silver were pulled from the nearby Bralorne mine before it closed in 1971.
