BC SPCA investigating after possible dog abuse video surfaces

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Animal cruelty charges are being recommended after a video appears to show a man booting a dog in an elevator in Vancouver.

Marcie Moriarty with the BC SPCA says the animal is now in their custody.

“We don’t know the exact details at this moment as to whether any injury was caused at that time. The dog will be undergoing a complete veterinary examination, and that would make up any possible evidence that would be submitted to Crown.”

She says the dog is kicked four times and then picked up by his leash.

Moriarty says the video is not being released at this time.

The dog is now in the care of the SPCA.
