Toronto Mayor Rob Ford diagnosed with a tumour

TORONTO (NEWS1130) – Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has been diagnosed with a tumour after seeking treatment for “unbearable” abdominal pain.

The CEO of the Humber River Hospital says the mayor has dealt with abdominal pains for over three months and that they became worse over the last 24 hours.

Dr. Rueben Devlin says a CT scan brought physicians to the “working diagnosis of a tumour” today.

Ford’s brother, Councillor Doug Ford, says the mayor is “in good spirits.”

The mayor will be kept in the hospital over the next few days as tests are conducted to determine more details about the tumour.

Rob Ford is running for re-election in the city’s Oct. 27 municipal vote.

Doug says he will provide an update on the future of his brother’s campaign tomorrow.

Friday is the deadline for candidates to withdraw from the race.
