Witness to Surrey car crash asked to hold bag of cash, drugs

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Don’t take random bags of drugs and cash from strangers.

That’s the message from Surrey RCMP following a bizarre car crash at 88th Avenue and 140th Street yesterday afternoon.

A 16-year-old boy ran from the scene, leaving the other driver bleeding in his car.

He was brought back there by two boys who had witnessed the crash while chopping wood in a yard nearby.

The teen then tried having another witness hold his bag of drugs and cash for him.

Cpl. Bert Paquet says thankfully the witness did the right thing and declined.

“By handing over a bloodied bag containing money and drugs, not only are you not doing any good, you’re also looking at putting yourself in a whole lot of trouble as well.”
