Overdoses at Vancouver’s INSITE caused by straight Fentanyl

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Straight Fentanyl is to blame for a rash of overdoses at Vancouver’s supervised injection site.
Health Canada tested the suspected heroin after 31 people overdosed at INSITE over a two-day period.
Vancouver Coastal Health says this year, contaminated heroin has caused 10 to 12 overdoses a week.
Police are urging drug users to be extremely cautious, not use drugs alone and to make use of the services provided by INSITE.
A woman in her 20s died in a hostel in the Downtown Eastside last weekend but toxicology tests have yet to confirm the cause of death.
