Does Christmas music in stores keep us shopping or drive us away?

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s being played in stores around the city, but not everyone is loving the holiday music.
A new survey finds it can have an impact on our shopping behaviour.
More than one-third of us have left a store because we are not too fond of the Christmas themed tunes. But the survey from SOCAN has found about the same number have stayed in a store because of the music.
Almost half of Canadians say hearing holiday songs reminds them that it’s time to start shopping.
And if you’re a Christmas music fan, you’ll like this: more than half of those asked would like to start hearing holiday tunes on public transportation and at the office.
