Eddie Lack and the Canucks shut out the Penguins

PITTSBURGH, PA (NEWS1130) – Brad Richardson scored two goals and added an assist, and Eddie Lack posted his fifth career shutout to lift Vancouver to another road win, 3-0 over the Penguins. The Canucks now lead the league in road wins with eleven.

Shawn Matthias chipped in with his sixth goal of the season. He also added an assist.

Lack didn’t show signs of rust in his first start since November 20. The defence took pressure off him by smothering the Penguins’ forwards and allowing eight or fewer Pittsburgh shots each period. Lack stopped 21 shots for his first shutout and second win of the season. “I feel like I’ve been struggling, so getting a goose egg was huge. I felt great all night.”

The Canucks will head to Toronto to face the Leafs on Saturday.
