Most BC fans want the Seahawks to win: poll

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s overwhelmingly blue and green in sports bars around the Lower Mainland this weekend.
A recent Insights West poll found almost half of the Lower Mainland will be following the Super Bowl closely thanks to the Seahawks being in it, with 63 per cent cheering for them.
Charlie Harger with KOMO News thinks part of the team’s popularity up north comes from the positive attitude the young team has. “They want to believe, it has something really if you think about it, there are so few NFL teams for all of us within this couple hundred mile radius to really get behind. It’s just fun getting behind these guys,” he explains.
Harger adds he has personally seen an increase in BC license plates around Seattle the past few days, and says bartenders have reported a lot of Canadian ID’s at bars and pubs.
