IHIT identifies person of interest in Surrey killing

SURREY (NEWS1130) – He disappeared from a New Westminster halfway house and now, homicide investigators are considering a wanted man a person of interest in the case of a killing in Surrey.
Donald Salahub, 44, violated his parole when he left his halfway house in February. Police won’t say why he is a person of interest in the killing of an Abbotsford man found in Surrey two weeks ago.
“At this point, we are hoping that by getting in touch with him, he may afford evidence of the offence. We are not calling him a suspect at this time,” says Sergeant Stephanie Ashton.
A 34-year-old man’s body was found in an SUV two weeks ago. It’s still unknown whether Michael Amy’s body was dumped or if he was, in fact, killed in the alleyway at 139th and 95th.
Salahub is described as 5’11” tall and heavier than 200 lbs with brown hair and eyes.
