VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Former RCMP Corporal Benjamin (Monty) Robinson has been found guilty of perjury at BC Supreme Court in Downtown Vancouver.
He was one of four Mounties accused of lying at a public inquiry into Robert Dziekanski’s death in October, 2007.
Given all four Mounties described the takedown at YVR inaccurately but in very similar terms, the judge found it beyond a reasonable doubt that the officers involved spoke with each other in the hours following the Polish immigrant’s death.
Robinson was the senior officer when police were called to YVR in 2007 and the Polish immigrant was stunned repeatedly with a Taser.
In 2013, Constable Bill Bentley was acquitted of perjury. Earlier this year, Constable Kwesi Millington was convicted of perjury.
