VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre has confirmed they have found the debris of missing Carson Air Flight 66 north of Mount Seymour.

Naval Lt. Paul Trenholm says the aircraft broke up into pieces. “I just contacted the JRCC directly and they were able to confirm that they were able to identify that it was the specific aircraft that we were looking for. That they had lowered search and rescue technicians down.”

“So what was found by the North Shore Search and Rescue ground crew, at first they found what they believed were pieces of the wing which led them next to the fuselage where they were able to confirm the call sign on the aircraft,” he explains.

“It’s in an area that is commonly referred to as the needle, it’s approximately northeast of Vancouver by about 14 km, it’s northeast of Grouse Mountain and just south of Cathedral Mountain.”

He adds they are still searching for the two pilots that were on board the flight.
