VPD call in extra resources to handle May Day crowds

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Roughly 5,000 people took to the streets of Vancouver yesterday for the annual May Day demonstration. For the most part, people were well behaved, however police say a group of about 70 protesters showed up to disrupt the peaceful rally.

Extra resources had to be brought in from other parts of the city as officers deal with the uncooperative protesters.

One person was stabbed and taken to the hospital but their injuries are not serious.

Three people were arrested by the end of the night.
