Want to be a CEO? TransLink advertising permanent full-time work in local papers

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Wanted: one CEO.

Must be willing to take a little constructive criticism from TransLink‘s adoring public.

Our transit authority needs someone to sit in the corner office, with interim CEO Doug Allen’s contract set to expire. So it has taken out ads in the local papers, calling for applicants.

In case you’re interested, it is a permanent full-time position, the annual salary is $320,000, and the minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree.

The successful applicant will be taking the helm of the embattled organization after a region-wide transit vote failed to secure $7.5 billion for transportation upgrades across the Lower Mainland.

But NEWS 1130 hit the street and found no shortage of interested job-seekers.

“Of course! For $320,000, I’d take it!” laughs Kenny. “I just have to sign a bunch of papers, don’t I?”

But Steven isn’t up for all the stress.

“No, because it involves making big decisions,” he chuckles. “And I don’t like TranLink; they’re taking too much money!”

Applicants have until November 19th to submit their resumes.

TransLink CFO Cathy McLay will take over on August 10th, temporarily filling the CEO position until a permanent replacement is found.
