Massey Tunnel shut for part of the morning following bad crash

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – A crash involving a transport truck and a brand new Mustang saw one or both lanes of the southbound Massey Tunnel shut down for two hours this morning.
Luckily, no-one was hurt.
Corporal Peter Somerville with the Deas Island RCMP says the incident is being investigated as a hit and run.
“I don’t understand how the truck driver wouldn’t have known that he hit this vehicle, why he would have continued on. In situations like this, the best bet is definitely to stop, make sure the other party is okay, exchange your information. That’s all that’s necessary to get going.”
The lanes were back open again as of 7:30 this morning, but if you have any information on the crash you’re urged to contact Deas Island RCMP immediately.
