Surrey Board of Trade not just hoping for business friendly government

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Surrey business-owners who may usually vote Conservative for fiscal reasons are thinking twice this election, according to the city’s board of trade.

News 1130 is hearing the issue of crime is leading some corporate leaders to look at other party platforms.

Surrey Board of Trade CEO Anita Huberman says it’s usually very clear for businesses who they should support but the dialogue is very different this year.

“It’s not only for the Conservatives and for business friendly governments, it’s more also about the social dialogue and social investment,” says Huberman. “These are conversations that really just started happening in the past three years and that’s why this election is very different from what I’ve seen before. It was in previous elections very clear.”

She says this is very different than what she’s seen before and she’s been with the SBOT for 22 years.
