Christy Clark hopes Liberal election promises will be kept

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – BC Premier Christy Clark is laughing off speculation in some Conservative circles that she might be among those considering a possible bid to replace Stephen Harper as federal party leader.

Speculation about possible candidates has been swirling since the federal Conservative party announced in a statement that Harper is stepping down as leader following his election loss to Liberal Justin Trudeau.

But Clark told a news conference today that she is not considering running federally.

She says she’s always seen her role as fighting for the people of BC and she intends to give that her full attention.

Clark is also talking about promises made by Justin Trudeau, including the Kitsilano Coast Guard Base. She hopes to see it back up and running soon.

She says she had a close working relationship with Stephen Harper and she expects that to continue with Trudeau.
