Trudeau may have to battle pretty boy image on world stage

OTTAWA, ON. (NEWS 1130) – Prime Minister designate Justin Trudeau managed to shed the image of pretty, political lightweight on his way to the top job in Ottawa, but it seems he may have the same fight all over again on the world stage.

Global media just can’t stop talking about our sexy, sexy new Prime Minister.

“The biggest risk for Trudeau is to not be taken seriously,” says Vancouver image consultant Kimberly Law. “He does need to show that serious side of his personality style and that he has the ability to take on the role.”

Law adds Trudeau isn’t the first young, attractive prime minister or president.

“That seems to be the trend in international leadership right now,” she tells NEWS 1130. “There are a number of international leaders who fit that description. Providing Trudeau shows integrity and credibility in everything he does, I think it could actually work for him rather than against him.”

But what about all the pictures spreading through international media of a shirtless Trudeau sporting a prominent tattoo on his shoulder?

“Unfortunately tattoos are distracting and already we are seeing that in the media. That’s probably something that is going to come back over and over and over again. There’s a chance he may not be taken as seriously but I don’t think tattoos have the same negative context they used to,” says Law.

And as long as our new Prime Minister keeps his shoulder covered while performing official duties, she doesn’t see it hurting his credibility.

By the way, the website Hottest Heads of State does not list Trudeau as the best looking world leader. That honour goes to Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, King of Bhutan, followed by President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico.

Trudeau is third on the list.
