China Airlines flight veers into grass at YVR

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) — A China Airlines flight ran into a bit of a problem after it landed at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) Tuesday.

Flight (CI) #32 ended up in some muddy grass.

The Airport Authority says the landing just before 6:30 p.m. was fine but something happened while the plane was taxiing to the gate to cause the front landing gear to leave the tarmac and head into the muddy grass.

There are no reports of injuries from passengers or crew members.

Shortly after the veer-off they were bused to the terminal.

There are no impacts to operations at YVR.

The Airport Authority says it’s too soon to say if rainy weather or mechanical issues were contributing factors.
