Henrik Sedin, Chris Tanev are out with injuries for Canucks game against Kings

LOS ANGELES (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks California road swing continues this evening in Los Angeles against their divisional foes, the Kings. Injuries continue to decimate Vancouver’s roster with Henrik Sedin and Chris Tanev the latest to go down with an injury.

Sedin has been sent back to Vancouver to be evaluated with an upper body injury. He suffered the injury in the first period against the Sharks on Saturday when he was hit by Brent Burns and fell awkwardly to the ice. Tanev was also unable to finish the game on the weekend.

Tonight’s lineup for the Canucks could be called patchwork at best. Linden Vey will centre the top line between Daniel Sedin and Emerson Etem. The second line of Sven Baertschi, Markus Granlund and Jake Virtanen remain intact. Bo Horvat joins a line with Brendan Gaunce and Derek Dorsett, while Jared McCann finds himself on the fourth line between Alex Burrows and Radim Vrbata. Vrbata returns to the lineup after missing several games with a lower body injury.

Ryan Miller is expected to get the start in net, with the Kings countering with Jonathan Quick.

Los Angeles remains in the thick of the playoff race despite its struggles over the last month. The Kings were finally caught by Anaheim last week for first in the Pacific Division.

The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. and you can watch the game on Sportsnet.
