Cat burglar calls 911 after getting stuck on roof

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A bungling cat burglar is in cuffs after a botched robbery left him stuck on a roof and forced him to call for help last night.

A 51-year-old man was supposedly trying to break through the skylight of a Shaughnessy home near the corner of Matthews Avenue and Cypress Street around 1 a.m. when he got stuck.

The would-be thief ended up having to call 911 and Vancouver Fire brought him down to the waiting arms of Vancouver Police.

The man, who has a history of break-ins, was arrested without incident and faces charges for break-and-enter.

“Even a skylight can be an attractive invitation to an agile cat burglar,” says Staff Sergeant Randy Fincham. “This cat wisely chose to save one of his nine lives and called 9-1-1 for help.”
