VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The VPD say an improvised explosive device was found in a storage locker near West 7th Ave and Manitoba last night.
The explosive team was able to safely detonate the device.
Staff Sergeant Randy Fincham says the major crimes unit is taking over the case.
“Right now our investigators are applying for a search warrant, working with a justice to obtain that warrant so they can go into that storage unit and find out what else we can possibly find in there,” says Fincham.
He adds the device could have done serious damage to the building, but believes the area is safe now.
There’s no word of a suspect.
