Vancouver, Surrey top BC pedestrian deaths

VANCOUVER (NEW 1130) — Data from the BC Coroners Service shows five Lower Mainland communities top the list when it comes to the number of pedestrian deaths in BC .
Statistics show last month there were more than twice the average number of deaths than any October of the past six years.
Road accidents lead to 10 pedestrian deaths in October. That brings the year’s death toll to 47.
The service says January, November, and December typically sees a higher number deaths than other months.
