Jennings leads Lions into western final after thrilling win over the Blue Bombers

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Jonathon Jennings brought the Lions back from 12 points down in the fourth quarter to give BC a 32-31 win over Winnipeg in the western division semi-final.

Trailing 31-26 with just over a minute left, Jennings ran in the winning score from the nine yard line. The Bombers had a chance to take the lead, or tie it with a single but Justin Medlock missed from 61 yards out, sealing the win for BC.

Running back Jeremiah Johnson had a big outing for BC, rushing for 110 yards including a 40 yard touchdown rumble. Jennings finished the game with 329 yards passing and he also threw for two scores.

BC played the second half without leading receiver Manny Arceneaux who had to leave the game with a concussion after a hit to the head from Winnipeg’s Taylor Loffler in the end zone.

The Lions move on to play the Stampeders in Calgary next weekend in the western final with a chance to go to the Grey Cup.
