Police appeal for witnesses after body found in North Vancouver

By

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is hoping anyone who used or was in the area of the Bridgman North Trail over the weekend comes forward with information after a burned body was discovered.

Just before 10 a.m. yesterday, Mounties responded to reports of the remains in a shelter on Lynn Creek near Keith Road. Investigators quickly deemed it a homicide.

“The victim has yet to be identified, and there remains many unanswered questions. Once the identity is known, our priority will be to notify and support the family, and attempt to piece together the events leading up to this tragic death,” says Corporal Meghan Foster.

She adds more crime scene analysis is needed to figure out if the crime happened at the shelter or somewhere else. The shelter is situated in a densely wooded area along the trail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at 1.877.551.IHIT or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477).
