One Vancouver restaurant cracks top 10 list of best Canadian restaurants

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Canada’s annual list of 100 best places to eat is out, but only one Vancouver restaurant managed to crack the top 10.
An 82-member panel of judges has released their annual list of the country’s 100 best restaurants and Hawksworth Restaurant grabs sixth spot.
Local food critic Mijune Pak says it doesn’t surprise her that the major eastern cities are getting more attention. “The majority of judges are from Toronto, that make a lot of their restaurants a lot more accessible. I don’t know how often all [the] judges are flying across Canada trying restaurants.”
She says because food is such a personal thing, maybe it’s time to do away with rankings and just have a list of 100 restaurants in no particular order. “It’s a lot of money and it’s a lot of time to dedicate to being able to try all these best-of restaurants, so there’s always going to be some politics behind that.”
Hawksworth Restaurant is in the top 10 for the third year in a row.
