Plans to build new Okanagan bridge don’t include tolls, how do you feel about that?

KELOWNA (NEWS 1130) – Liberal leader Christy Clark made some comments today in Kelowna and that might not sit well with commuters in Metro Vancouver.

“We won’t be asking people in Kelowna and in Fort St. John and Prince Rupert and Campbell River to be paying for these reckless promises that the NDP are making in the Lower Mainland.”

Clark was talking about the construction of a new bridge in the Okanagan riding where she’s currently an MLA, but she refused to say whether that new crossing will be tolled.

“Let’s figure out what it’s going to look like, where it’s going to be and then, we can have a talk about that, but we’re just so early in the stages, it’s hard to say.”

The New Democrats have promised to eliminate tolls on the Port Mann and Golden Ears bridges –with leader John Horgan repeatedly pointing out the recent replacement of Kelowna’s floating bridge is a free crossing.
