Vancouver Canucks to unveil new jerseys this week

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Vancouver Canucks are getting ready to show off their new look tomorrow, and the big question is, which logo are they going with?

“The league is eliminating a third jersey that most of the teams have had for the last few decades,” explains NEWS 1130 Sports Director Ann Schmaltz.

“It was the ‘stick across the rink’ that was the third jersey for the Canucks, and that one actually has been the most popular in recent years.”

For that reason, Schmaltz says the team could do something unique by going with two logos instead of one.

She adds while the ‘stick across the rink’ logo is popular with the fan base, “the kids still love Fin… that ever-popular mascot. So I’m expecting two jerseys, one of each.”

Reebok recently held the contract for all jerseys in the NHL, but the league is switching to Adidas this season, prompting the wardrobe change.
