DELTA (NEWS 1130) – It was flying along the suspension cables, plummeting down a pillar, and parallel to cars only meters away, heading across one of the busiest bridges in the Lower Mainland.
Police in Delta are looking over video posted to YouTube late last week, showing a drone flying around the Alex Fraser Bridge.
Sharlene Brooks with Delta Police tell City there is major risk of a collision if the person flying a drone loses control.
“It’s a distraction, if nothing else. If they fly it low enough… or if they lose control and [it could hit] a vehicle.”
Brooks adds if your drone hits a car, you could be fined up to $3,000.
The video was posted by a group calling itself “Rotor Riot,” which hasn’t commented.
