SURREY (NEWS 1130) – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called to the Cloverdale area of Surrey after a homicide on 64 Avenue.

The street has been closed off between 176th and 179th Streets by investigators since just after midnight Sunday morning. Investigators say police and paramedics arrived at 64 Avenue to find a male in distress, who later died.

IHIT believes the homicide is targeted. Investigators say they will provide an update on Monday.

Anyone with information is urged to contact IHIT.

This is Surrey’s first homicide of 2018.

On January 4th, Surrey RCMP were called out to the nearby area of 64th Avenue and 174th Street after reports of shots being fired. Officers found a man in a car, injured in what was described as a targeted attack.
