Man seriously hurt after targeted shooting in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK (NEWS 1130) – A man has suffered serious injuries after police say he was shot and drove his vehicle off Chilliwack River Road this morning.

The Chilliwack RCMP was called around 5 a.m. for reports a man was suffering from a gunshot wound and had crashed into a ditch.

When they arrived, officers found the man being helped by a number of good Samaritans as well as BC Ambulance members.

The victim has been taken to hospital, but his current condition is unclear. The RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and believe this was a targeted incident.

Mounties are now looking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area of or around Chilliwack River Road early this morning “who may have witnessed unusual driving behaviour or events.”
