Police ID Surrey homicide victim, say killing linked to gang violence

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Homicide Investigators have identified the victim of yesterday’s death in Surrey and are hoping you might know something about his activities or who he’d been talking to before he was killed.

Amin Vinepal, 24, was from Delta.

Police say his death was targeted and linked to other gang violence in the Lower Mainland.

Vinepal’s body was found on 12 Avenue near 176 Street at around 3:30 p.m. yesterday. A burned-out car investigators believe is linked to the crime was found on 28 Avenue between 184 and 188 Streets.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team believe this was a targeted hit and linked to other gang violence in the Lower Mainland.
