SURREY (NEWS 1130) – There’s been an arrest seven years after a man was murdered in Surrey.

Manbir Singh Kajla, 30, and his wife were involved in a car crash on 128 Street near 68 Avenue in 2011. The other driver got out of his car and approached Kajla following the crash, shot him and then took off.

When police arrived to the scene, Kajla was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and eventually died.

Years later, IHIT says 30-year-old Samandeep Gill is now charged with second degree murder Kajla’s death. the Surrey man has also been charged with attempted murder for shots that were shot at Kajla’s wife, Pavan Sanghera Kajla, who witnessed the shooting.

Gill was identified seven years ago but was only arrested May 5th. Police believe this may have been case of road rage, but the investigation is not over yet. They don’t believe the two had any prior connection to each other.

“Nothing can bring him back, but glad to see next step today,” said the victim’s family in a statement.
