ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – A barn in the Bradner area of Abbotsford is completely destroyed after a fire broke out around 6 p.m. Sunday night.
When crews arrived at the scene on Bradner Road, north of Starr Road, the barn was completely involved.
“[We had] about eight apparatus attend the scene with about 30 personnel,” says Assistant Fire Chief Craig Leighton. He explains it was quickly called a working fire as they could see it from quite a distance.
Leighton says black smoke was billowing high into the air.
Luckily there were no animals in the barn and no one was injured.
“It was equipment, some old cars, a generator, and farm machinery [in the barn].”
There is no word on what sparked the blaze, but a fire investigator did attend the scene. Crews spent hours putting out hot spots after knocking the fire down.
